Israeli troops kill Palestinian boy
The boy was allegedly killed when Israeli soldiers fired at Palestinians marking the Land Day A 15-year-old Palestinian boy has been killed and several others injured near Gaza's border with Israel after Israeli troops opened fire at Israeli Arabs and Palestinians protesters marking the "Land day". Witnesses said Mohamed al-Farmawi was shot dead on Tuesday after he approached the fence along the border with Israel.
Gaza emergency chief Moaweya Hassanein told reporters that medical teams and International Red Cross Committee (ICRC) co-ordinated with the Israeli army to collect the boy's body. Israeli army, however, denied that troops had shot dead the Palestinian boy.
An Israeli army spokesperson said: "Following an examination of the Gaza division, we are not familiar with any incident of a Palestinian being hit by IDF (Israeli military) fire."
Meanwhile, dozens of Palestinians demonstrated near the border east of the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, protesting against the buffer zone that Israel is building along its border with the Gaza Strip. Witnesses said that at least six Palestinians were injured by gunfire from Israeli troops stationed at the area.

Palestinian teen reportedly killed by IDF returns home According to Palestinian report IDF soldiers shot a 15-year-old boy earlier this week in Gaza Strip, however it appears teen tried to cross over into Egypt via smuggling tunnel

Published: 04.03.10, 20:57 / Israel News

A Palestinian 15-year-old boy who was said to have been killed in the Gaza Strip this week returned to his home safe and sound, it was reported Saturday.

Palestinian medical elements initially reported that Mohammed al-Farmawi was killed by IDF fire near Rafah. According to the report, the teen approached the border fence near the Badhania airport and apparently tried to cross over into Israeli territory. The IDF denied the report and said that dozens of Palestinians held protests in several locations near the border fence area in the Strip.
The teen returned home on Friday after apparently trying to cross over into Egypt via a smuggling tunnel, where he was kept for several days. The Ma'an news agency reported that his family was overwhelmed with happiness at the news.
Palestinian sources said that the boy's alleged death might have been related to "internal affairs."
A source from the Palestinian Health Ministry said that they had received false reports from the field and had later declared that no body was found.
